So many new gadgets, phones, tech watches in 2019! What to buy? Our best smartwatch you can buy right now is from Samsung, and instead of opting for the expected Gear S4 name it’s called the Galaxy Watch. Following on from the Gear S3 series and the Gear Sport in 2017, the latest Samsung Watch is much improved. We’ve tested out the larger 46mm version of the watch and it comes with a phenomenal four day battery life even when you’re using it extensively. That’s impressive considering a lot of other watches on this list last a day or so from a single charge. The rotating bezel remains a highlight of navigating around the Tizen OS on the watch, and the interface is one of the easiest to pick up that we’ve seen on a smartwatch.
There’s a lot to like about the Xiaomi Mi 9, which offers some of the best specs you’re likely to see in an Android flagship in 2019, and looks really good too – the thin bezels and teardrop notch put the focus on the bright, vivid 6.39-inch screen. When we tested out the phone we were also impressed with the Xiaomi Mi 9 camera, which got great results in most conditions, and the battery life. It’s going to give some serious competition to Google and Samsung this year. There are some minor niggles worth talking about, including the lack of waterproofing and the MIUI software that Xiaomi puts on top of Android – it’s not quite the polished software experience that you get from Google or Samsung.
The Moov Now doesn’t have all the bells and whistles you would associate with a fitness tracker. It doesn’t have GPS tracking, it doesn’t even have a screen; but what it does have is a cheap price tag and six-month battery life. Yes, you read that right: six months. During those six months you can track your steps, your sleep, your fitness, your running technique and a whole lot more. This may be an unconventional fitness tracker, but it’s a great one.
