Instead, put an external flash on the top of the camera and point it upwards and slightly back with an attached *small* diffuser (the kind that pops right over the top of the flash head). This works wonders in indoor situations because you are sending the light bouncing off the ceiling, which diffuses it and makes it much more flattering on people’s faces.
